Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters has officially announced the closure of the strategic Strait of Hormuz to maritime traffic, citing blatant US non-compliance with the recently signed war-terminating memorandum of understanding (MoU) and ongoing Israeli military aggression in southern Lebanon.

Tehran - BORNA - The central military command commenced its official statement with the holy Quranic verse, "And if they break their oaths after their treaty and defame your religion, then fight the leaders of disbelief, for indeed, there are no oaths [sacred] to them; that they might cease." (Surah At-Tawbah, Verse 12).

In the formal directive issued on Saturday, the headquarters declared that this drastic measure comes in direct response to Washington's manifest breach of faith regarding the non-implementation of the first clause of the bilateral peace understanding.

The statement further highlighted that the closure is a decisive reaction to the Zionist regime’s continuous and unceasing violations of the ceasefire in southern Lebanon, which have resulted in the brutal massacre and mass displacement of hundreds of thousands of innocent Lebanese civilians, alongside Israel's absolute refusal to withdraw its occupying forces from southern Lebanese territories.

The high-level military headquarters explicitly warned that this unprecedented operational shutdown marks only the primary phase of Tehran’s multi-tiered response to the adversary's breach of commitments.

The command emphasized that should the acts of aggression and diplomatic non-compliance persist, subsequent strategic phases have already been meticulously planned and will be swiftly executed to systematically compel the opposing side to adhere to its international obligations.
