Iranian Negotiating Delegation Led by Ghalibaf Departs for Switzerland

Tehran - BORNA -  Esmaeil Baghaei, the Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, considered the Iranian negotiating delegation's trip to Switzerland to be in line with pursuing the implementation of the opposing side's commitments, not the start of negotiations to reach a final agreement, and added: "This trip is to follow up on the implementation of the opposing side's commitments. Negotiations for the final agreement will take place when the other clauses are implemented."

He added: "The commitments of both sides are clear. We have been committed to our obligations, but the opposing side has not fulfilled its commitments regarding the ceasefire in Lebanon."

Emphasizing that the opposing side must fulfill its commitment in this regard, otherwise the entirety of the commitments will face problems, Baghaei continued: "The first clause of the memorandum of understanding was about ending the war on all fronts, including in Lebanon. The opposing side was obliged to force its ally, namely the Zionist regime, into a ceasefire, but it has not taken this action. If the opposing side refrains from fulfilling its commitment, Iran will reciprocate."

Baghaei emphasized: "The nature of the memorandum of understanding between Iran and the US is commitment for commitment."

It is worth mentioning that Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf as the head of the negotiating delegation, along with Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Vice President for International Affairs of the Supreme National Security Council Secretariat Ali Bagheri, Governor of the Central Bank Abdolnaser Hemmati, Deputy Oil Minister and Managing Director of the National Iranian Oil Company Hamid Bovard, and Deputy Foreign Ministers Kazem Gharibabadi and Esmaeil Baghaei are among the members of our country's dispatched delegation on this trip.
