Baghaei: Iran will use all its leverage to ensure implementation of commitments
The Foreign Ministry spokesman stated that the basis of the process is "commitment in exchange for commitment," adding that Iran, while monitoring the implementation of the other side's commitments, will use all its leverage to ensure they are fulfilled.

Tehran - BORNA - Esmail Baghaei, the Foreign Ministry spokesman, wrote in a post on X social media platform: "The delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran is returning home after intensive talks on the implementation of the memorandum of understanding to end the war, dated June 18."

He added: "These talks, focusing on Clauses 1, 5, 10, and 11 of the memorandum, began on Sunday morning, June 21, in Switzerland (Lake Lucerne) and continued until the early hours of Monday, June 22. Based on the joint statement of the mediating countries (Qatar and Pakistan), which was prepared in consultation with Iran and the United States, implementation mechanisms were established to monitor the implementation of the memorandum's provisions, and it was agreed that talks at expert and technical levels would continue to advance the effective implementation of the understanding to end the imposed war."

Baghaei noted: "Considering that under Clause 13 of the memorandum, the initiation of talks for a final agreement is contingent upon the commencement and continuation of the implementation of Clauses 1, 4, 5, 10, and 11, the agreements reached at this meeting – particularly Clause 1 regarding the cessation of war and military operations by the Zionist regime in Lebanon through the establishment of a conflict control mechanism with the participation of the parties and the Republic of Lebanon, as well as Clauses 10 concerning Iran's oil and petrochemical exports and 11 regarding the release of Iran's blocked assets – will facilitate the process of implementing mutual commitments."

The Foreign Ministry spokesman stated: "The basis of the process is 'commitment in exchange for commitment,' and the Islamic Republic of Iran, while monitoring the implementation of the other side's commitments, will use all its leverage to ensure they are fulfilled."
