Pakistan: New Round of Iran-US Technical Talks to Be Held

Tehran - BORNA - Pakistani Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Taher Andrabi stated that the negotiations between Iran and the United States have led to significant outcomes, noting that the mediating nations—Pakistan and Qatar—are tasked with following up on the implementation of the agreed-upon points.

As reported by Al Jazeera, he further clarified that one of the core clauses of this agreement involves establishing a direct communication line between Tehran and Washington to prevent potential issues and misunderstandings.

The Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesperson added that Islamabad remains in communication with friendly and partner nations that have contributed effectively to supporting the Iran-US negotiation process. He also emphasized that efforts are underway to communicate with both the Iranian and American sides to ensure the effective implementation of the memorandum of understanding (MoU).

According to the Pakistani official, Pakistan's diplomatic teams are conducting ongoing communications and coordinations with both Iranian and US sides to guarantee the effective and full implementation of the "provisions of the MoU."

The Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that technical talks between Tehran and Washington continue despite recess periods taken by the parties. The ministry also stressed that expert-level technical negotiations between Tehran and Washington are scheduled to resume in the coming days, mediated by Pakistan and Qatar.

The second round of these negotiations was held this past Sunday in Bürgenstock, Switzerland, attended by the Prime Minister and the Army Chief of Pakistan. Three technical working groups have been established in the fields of the nuclear program, sanctions/frozen assets, and the situation in Lebanon, with Pakistani and Qatari technical teams maintaining active communication with both parties.
