Iran's MFA Spox Outlines Follow-up on War Termination MoU Implementation
Tehran - BORNA - Emphasizing the Islamic Republic of Iran's focus on executing the provisions of the MoU, the spokesman stated: "The current priority for the Islamic Republic of Iran is to ensure the implementation of the memorandum's provisions, and we are seriously pursuing our demands in this regard."
In response to a question regarding the implementation status of various clauses of the MoU, including the issue of oil sales and free access to Iran's frozen assets, Baghaei said: "Regarding the US commitment under Paragraph 10 (oil sales), the necessary waivers have been issued by the United States, and we are following up on its implementation process. Concerning Paragraph 11 (the release of Iran's frozen assets), the operationalization process is also being pursued. Within this framework, an expert delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran will be dispatched to Doha this week."
Answering a question about the commencement of negotiations for a final agreement within the framework of the designated working groups, Baghaei noted: "We have not yet entered the negotiation phase for a final agreement; according to Paragraph 13 of the MoU, the initiation of final agreement talks is contingent upon the commencement and continuation of the implementation of Paragraphs 1, 4, 5, 10, and 11."
Regarding reports published about the travel of senior US representatives to Doha coinciding with the Iranian expert delegation's visit to the country, Baghaei clarified: "We have no negotiating meetings at any level with the American side in the coming days. The fact that US representatives are traveling to Qatar is unrelated to the visit of the Iranian delegation, which is being conducted solely to follow up on the implementation of the MoU provisions, including Paragraph 11."
