Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi Arrives in Oman for Key Regional Talks

Tehran - BORNA - The Foreign Minister's working visit to the Sultanate is part of ongoing and close bilateral consultations between Iran and Oman regarding critical regional developments, with a specific focus on security and maritime stability in the Strait of Hormuz.

During his meetings, Araghchi and his Omani counterpart are scheduled to deliberate on establishing the necessary operational mechanisms to guarantee the safe passage of commercial vessels through the strategic chokepoint of the Strait of Hormuz, in strict compliance with Article 5 of the recent Islamabad memorandum of understanding.

Upon his arrival at Muscat International Airport, Araghchi was formally received by senior officials from the Foreign Ministry of the Sultanate of Oman, alongside the Iranian Ambassador to Muscat.
