Pakistan Reaffirms Commitment to Regional Peace, Urges Strict Adherence to Islamabad MoU

Tehran - BORNA -  The Pakistani Foreign Ministry released an official statement on Sunday evening, reaffirming Islamabad's firm support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all brotherly nations in the region.

"We remain dedicated to extending any necessary support to achieve lasting peace and stability in the region through open dialogue and diplomatic channels," the ministry stated, in remarks also covered by Al Jazeera.

Acting as a key mediator between Iran and the United States, Pakistan called on both sides to exercise maximum restraint, take immediate steps toward de-escalation, and fully honor their diplomatic obligations.

Under the framework of the Islamabad memorandum of understanding, both Iran and the United States committed to an immediate and permanent cessation of all military operations across all fronts, including Lebanon. The accord strictly obligates both nations to refrain from initiating new military campaigns, halt the threat or use of force against one another, and guarantee the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Lebanon.

The Pakistani appeal comes amidst growing complications surrounding the peace framework. Over recent weeks, the implementation process has been severely strained, with Tehran accusing the American side of repeatedly violating key clauses of the Islamabad accord and undermining the fragile regional truce.
