Iran Seeks Dialogue Over Conflict, First Vice President Says

Tehran - BORNA - Speaking at a ceremony marking National Skill Week, Aref addressed external pressures and sanctions, asserting that foreign powers cannot intimidate the Iranian people with economic measures.

"We are not a people of war and conflict; we wish to resolve problems through dialogue," Aref said. "However, if a war is imposed on us, we will defend ourselves very well."

Reflecting on historical precedents, the First Vice President recalled the eight-year Iran-Iraq War, noting that despite extensive foreign support for the opposing regime, the Iranian nation demonstrated resilience. He added that the country continues to maintain high endurance against sanctions and economic pressures.

"People should not be intimidated with sanctions," Aref emphasized, noting that national endurance is part of Iran's strategy to navigate external constraints.

Elsewhere in his address, Aref highlighted the role of vocational training and technical education in boosting national economic growth, pointing out that productivity is expected to account for 35 percent of the country's overall economic expansion goals.
