Iran reminds Bahrain: We respected neighborly ties with a detached territory

Tehran - BORNA - Baghaei addressed the Bahraini ruler's comments in a post on X, emphasizing that Islam measures nobility by righteousness rather than language or geography, citing Surah Al-Hujurat: "Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you." He stressed that speaking Arabic gives no ruler the right to claim sole representation of the Prophet's message.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran has always emphasized the principle of good neighborliness and brotherly relations among Islamic nations—regardless of political differences—even in dealing with a newly established government ruling over a detached portion of Iranian land," Baghaei wrote.

Citing Quranic verses and Hadith that strictly forbid aiding oppressors, Baghaei called on the Bahraini leadership to evaluate its own actions before lecturing others, questioning whether hosting and assisting military forces that attack a neighboring Muslim country aligns with Islamic brotherhood or Quranic principles.

Baghaei's response follows controversial comments by the Bahraini ruler, who addressed Iran by claiming that the Prophet Muhammad brought spiritual depth to Iran after centuries of darkness, adding: "Out of gratitude for this, at least stop attacking Bahrain."
