Academic Jihad localizes over 2,000 parts for petrochemical industry

Tehran - BORNA - Hamid Saberfarzam said at a press conference marking the 46th anniversary of Academic Jihad's founding that the institution has focused on defense, industrial self-sufficiency, food security, and employment over the past year. He noted that Academic Jihad operates the country's largest innovation and technology network, including three science parks, 24 incubators, 42 innovation centers, and more than 800 knowledge-based companies.

Saberfarzam said that over 2,000 parts previously imported for the petrochemical industry were localized last year, with technical blueprints also developed and shared with the industry to enable domestic workshops to produce them. A new contract is underway to draft a comprehensive self-sufficiency document for the petrochemical sector, and another contract in the field of industrial resilience will soon be signed to reduce the country's dependence on imported technologies.

In the defense sector, technology support for defense research was prioritized, with multiple projects carried out in cooperation with knowledge-based companies. While details cannot be disclosed, researchers and technologists played an effective role in these projects.

The Academic Jihad's agricultural research and technology center began operations last year and is now conducting research across various agricultural sectors. A memorandum of understanding will be signed with Isfahan's governorate to establish the country's largest agricultural research center.

The first knowledge-based employment think tank will also begin operations, while the "Mehrabaran" national project, launched after the recent war, aims to organize damaged businesses and create neighborhood-based job opportunities using students, graduates, and specialized personnel.
