Technical and political consultations between Iran and Oman regarding transit management in the Strait of Hormuz are progressing positively, Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman announced.

Tehran - BORNA - "These negotiations, conducted between the two coastal states of the Strait of Hormuz, are focusing on establishing safe inbound and outbound lanes for commercial vessels," the spokesman stated, noting that the proposed corridors aim to safeguard national security interests while respecting the sovereign rights of both nations.

The spokesman assessed discussions at both technical and political levels as positive, adding that Iran is working closely with Oman to draft the necessary mechanisms for future maritime traffic management in the strategic waterway.

The final outcomes of the talks will be announced once consultations are fully concluded, the Ministry noted.
