Joe Kent, the former director of the US National Counterterrorism Center who resigned over the US-Israeli war against Iran, has acknowledged that Trump administration claims about Iran's proximity to nuclear weapons were propaganda.

Tehran - BORNA - In a post on X, Kent wrote: "Iran was not sending terrorists to America, nor was it building nuclear weapons. The idea that Iran was or is on the verge of building a nuclear weapon to attack us is just propaganda, similar to the Bush-era claims about Iraq."

The US and the Zionist regime launched aggression against Iran on February 28, while indirect talks with the US side were ongoing. Iran responded with Operation Truthful Promise 4, targeting US bases in the region and specific targets in the occupied territories. Iran and the US eventually reached an understanding to end the war after 100 days, though the understanding has effectively collapsed due to US failure to implement all its clauses.
