Iran drawn with China, India, New Zealand in Asian Men's Volleyball Championship

Tehran - BORNA - The tournament will be held from September 4 to 13 in Fukuoka, Japan. The draw ceremony took place on Tuesday with AVC President Ramon Suzara in attendance.

Twelve teams will compete in the preliminary round across three groups. Group A features hosts Japan, Australia, Bahrain, and Oman. Group B consists of Iran, China, India, and New Zealand. Group C includes Qatar, South Korea, Chinese Taipei, and Thailand.

The top two teams from each group, along with the two best third-place teams, will advance to the knockout stage. The quarterfinal pairings will be determined using the Combined Team Ranking System, which ranks the eight qualifiers based on their overall performance in the preliminary round, regardless of group standings. The top-ranked team will face the eighth-ranked team, second against seventh, and so on.

The tournament winner will secure Asia's first quota for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, while the top three teams will qualify for the 2027 World Championship.
