Yemeni official: We never closed door to dialogue with Saudi Arabia

Tehran - BORNA - Mohammed Abdul Salam said that the Yemeni armed forces' operations against Saudi vessels, troop gatherings, and military bases inside Yemen are part of their legitimate response to attacks, including the strike on Sanaa airport.

Abdul Salam said Sanaa had adhered to a ceasefire and de-escalation for four years and had not carried out any hostile actions against Saudi Arabia. In return, he said, Riyadh exploited the ceasefire to deliberately worsen the economic and living conditions of the Yemeni people.

He accused Saudi Arabia of intensifying the blockade through inspections of vessels and targeting banks, exchange houses, and merchants, worsening the humanitarian crisis and driving up prices for citizens.

Abdul Salam said Sanaa has never closed the door to dialogue and negotiation, and that the Saudi side rejects it. He said Riyadh is stalling to advance conspiracies and military preparations, dragging Yemen into chaos and endless wars.

He said the armed forces will continue to fulfill their duty in defending Yemen's sovereignty, independence, and dignity, and stressed that any future path must lead to the realization of Yemeni rights, including reopening airports and ports, payment of salaries, and resumption of oil and gas exports.
