Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian met with Pakistani Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday evening, stating that the commitment of Pakistan's Prime Minister and senior officials toward strengthening bilateral solidarity and expanding relations with Iran is deeply valued by Tehran.

Tehran - BORNA - Pezeshkian highlighted the deep historical, cultural, and people-to-people ties between the two neighboring nations during the meeting.

Pezeshkian calls for leveraging bilateral capacities for regional stability

Emphasizing the necessity of utilizing extensive existing capacities to elevate bilateral cooperation, the Iranian President affirmed: "The Islamic Republic of Iran is fully prepared to further deepen its relations with Pakistan in all areas of mutual interest and pave the way for expanding joint cooperation."

Pezeshkian pointed to the significance of Iran-Pakistan ties within the broader regional framework, stressing the need to enhance interactions and leverage capabilities across economic, trade, cultural, and security domains.

"Developing bilateral relations and deepening cooperation can serve the mutual interests of both nations and contribute to strengthening regional stability and security," Pezeshkian added.

Pakistani Interior Minister reaffirms Islamabad's resolve to implement agreements

For his part, Pakistani Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi expressed satisfaction with meeting President Pezeshkian and noted that the main objective of his visit to Tehran is to follow up on the agreements and understandings reached during the recent visit of Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni to Pakistan.

Underlining the strong and long-standing bonds between the two countries, Naqvi stated: "Iran-Pakistan relations are robust and unbreakable, and Islamabad is pursuing the comprehensive development of ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran with serious resolve."

The Pakistani Interior Minister emphasized the importance of operationalizing bilateral agreements, noting that his visit to Tehran aims to strengthen cooperation mechanisms and accelerate the execution of joint accords.
