Maj. Gen. Rezaei: Iran and Pakistan are each other's strategic depth
Tehran - BORNA - Rezaei emphasized during the meeting that Iran considers Pakistan to be one of the great assets of the Islamic world, noting that Iran is a second home to the Pakistani nation.

Highlighting the pivotal role of key Muslim nations, the SNSC Secretary stated that Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Indonesia bear the primary responsibility for strengthening unity and convergence across the Islamic world.
"From the outset of the Islamic Revolution, Iranian leaders have consistently viewed Pakistan as Iran's strategic depth and Iran as Pakistan's strategic depth," Rezaei said, adding that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian pays special attention to Pakistan and has called for multiplying the volume of bilateral trade exchanges.
Rezaei emphasized that political relations must be pursued with greater strength than in the past, pointing to the genuine mutual affection between the two nations as a foundation for broader regional cooperation. He noted that the Iranian people feel deep concern over incidents in Pakistan, just as the Pakistani people supported Iran during times of conflict.
Pakistani Interior Minister praises unprecedented level of bilateral ties
For his part, Pakistani Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi conveyed congratulations from Pakistan's Prime Minister and Army Chief to Major General Rezaei on his appointment as SNSC Secretary.
Naqvi stated that Rezaei’s experience, maturity, and strategic intellect could significantly contribute to sustainable regional security.
"Relations between Iran and Pakistan have reached a far stronger level in recent months," Naqvi noted. "The current level of relations between Tehran and Islamabad is unprecedented."
The Pakistani minister expressed appreciation for the efforts of President Pezeshkian, as well as the Iranian foreign and interior ministers, in enhancing bilateral ties. He pointed to the widespread solidarity shown in Pakistan following the martyrdom of Iran's Supreme Leader as a prime example of the deep bond between the two nations, expressing confidence that joint goals can be fully realized through the strong determination of both leaderships.
