Iran’s Foreign Ministry called prime ministerial rhetoric from the Israeli regime denying an independent Palestinian state and claiming permanent ownership over Syria’s Golan Heights a sharp violation of international law on Thursday.

Tehran - BORNA - The Iranian Foreign Ministry released an official statement addressing the continued expansionist actions of the Israeli regime against Palestine and Syria.

"The head of the criminal entity occupying Palestinian territory is in no position to comment on the formation of an independent Palestinian state, as the land of Palestine belongs to its people and racist illusions cannot alter this reality," the ministry stated. "Furthermore, the Golan Heights remain an integral part of Syrian territory, and the colonial ambitions of an occupying entity cannot alter historical and legal facts."

The statement also strongly condemned the Colombian government's recent recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the occupied Golan Heights, describing it as a clear violation of UN Charter principles regarding sovereignty and territorial integrity that incurs international liability for Bogota.

Highlighting the responsibility of the UN Security Council, Tehran called on all nations—particularly Muslim countries—to fulfill their legal and moral duties to support Palestinian self-determination and end occupation, apartheid, and aggression across the region, including in Lebanon and Syria.

The ministry described the Palestinian issue as the most pressing humanitarian and moral matter of the modern era since 1948, asserting that full backing from the United States and several Western nations, including the UK, France, Germany, and Canada, remains the primary driver of Israeli impunity and regional instability.

Reaffirming its principled stance, Iran expressed unwavering support for the legitimate struggle of the Palestinian people to liberate their land, secure the return of refugees, realize self-determination, and establish an independent state with Al-Quds as its capital
