40-day memorial for martyred leader to be held across Iran, abroad
Tehran - BORNA - Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Mohammad Reza Mirtajodini, deputy for ceremonies and provinces at the Islamic Propaganda Coordination Council, said at a planning meeting that coordinated efforts are underway to hold the memorial with grandeur. He announced that special programs will be held across the country on Thursday, with Tehran, Qom, and Razavi Khorasan provinces hosting main events in coordination with the Supreme Leader's office.
In Tehran, a memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, August 18, from 5 PM to 7 PM under the auspices of the Supreme Leader's office. On Wednesday, August 19, a ceremony will be held in Qom at the holy shrine after evening prayers. On Thursday, August 20, the main memorial event will take place in Mashhad from 4 PM to 6 PM at the holy shrine, beside the martyred leader's grave.
Seyed Mazhar Hosseini, director of protocol at the Supreme Leader's office, confirmed that Thursday, August 20, has been designated as the day for public memorial ceremonies across the country. The Supreme Leader's office's international department has also designated the same day for the main ceremonies in other countries. However, he added that if countries face conditions requiring the ceremony to be held on a different day, there is no obstacle.
Memorial events are also being planned and held in various countries around the world, with necessary information about these ceremonies to be announced.
