Iran U18 basketball team crushes Sri Lanka 110-42 for second win in Asia Cup
Iran's U18 basketball team dominated Sri Lanka 110-42 in their second Group C match at the Asia Cup, securing a second straight victory.
Tehran - BORNA - Iran won all four quarters with scores of 28-8, 25-12, 26-4, and 31-18. Mohammad Shamsi recorded 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 15 assists with an efficiency rating of 29. Alireza Rashidi posted 15 points with an efficiency of 15, while Mohammad Yashar Kamal Khaledi scored 23 points with an efficiency of 25.
Iran, placed in Group C alongside China, Qatar, and Sri Lanka, will face China in their third match on Tuesday at 8:30 AM. The team has so far recorded a 94-69 victory over Qatar and a 110-42 win against Sri Lanka.
The 16-team U18 Asia Cup is being held in Ahmedabad, India, from August 13 to August 23. The top four teams will qualify for the 2027 U19 World Cup.
