Iranian Army chief: We have no limits in defending ourselves
Tehran - BORNA - Major General Amir Hatami, Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Army, made the remarks at a ceremony honoring journalists. He described journalists as a crucial link in national defense and a decisive factor in mobilizing all resources. "We saw this impact during the uprising of the noble Iranian nation, which took to the streets for 168 nights. The people saw what the enemy was after, and this was achieved through the good transmission of the message by the media," he said.
The Army chief addressed recent remarks by the US President, saying: "The criminal US President says he wants to declare the Strait of Hormuz part of the territory of crime. You are making a big mistake! After seeing the reactions, he said he was joking. Even that joke is a big mistake. This is Iran, and it has guardians who will break the bones in your legs."
He reviewed Iran's military successes, including the eight-year Sacred Defense, the 12-day war, the 40-day war, and the fight against ISIS. He said in all cases, Iran emerged victorious. "In the media battle as well, the enemy is admitting to the victory of the Islamic Republic of Iran. This is the result of the nation's resilience, the sacrifice of the fighters, the blessings of the martyrs' blood, and the good, accurate, dignified, logical, and believable reflection of events by the media and journalists of the Islamic Republic of Iran," he said.
The image of the US President is the image of a great loser
Hatami said the US President is a delusional figure trying to project an image of victory, but few in the world take him seriously. "The image that Western media are projecting of the US is that of a loser. The image of someone who hides in a food truck out of fear and leaves other officials and journalists on a plane that US intelligence claimed was under threat — that is the image of a loser," he said.
US aircraft carrier struck
Hatami aslo stated that at least one projectile struck the USS Abraham Lincoln, preventing its fighter jets from flying for some time, adding that the carrier is now returning, though the US will not confirm this.
New military reorganization
Hatami said the Supreme Leader's new military reorganization sends a clear message: any military escalation will only make Iran more determined in its defense. He said US claims about solving "the Iran problem" are delusional, adding there is no military solution to the issue. He also noted that Iran's nuclear fatwa remains the strongest document against such pretexts.
US presence in the region over
Hatami said US bases cannot return to their previous status. "The only way is for the Americans to leave the region. Their expulsion has already begun. They no longer have permission to enter the Persian Gulf, the Sea of Oman, or the Strait of Hormuz," he said. He also addressed recent strikes on Jordan, saying Iran's reach extends to any aggressor, and the country's forces can bypass any defense system. "Israel has also witnessed Iran penetrating its defense layers," he said.
New defensive capabilities
Hatami said Iran has acquired new defensive capabilities, with some already demonstrated in the Strait of Hormuz conflict. He said the strait is a divine geopolitical asset that will never return to its previous status. "One of the US President's legacies will be the activation of this capacity. If it wasn't for this war, this capacity would not have been activated. Whatever the cost, it is worth it, and we will protect this capacity with all our strength," he said.
