Iran’s Heydari, Mohammadhosseini lose in U20 Greco-Roman semifinals

Tehran - BORNA - In the 60kg category, Heydari faced Azerbaijan’s Aykhan Javadov in the semifinals and took a 3-0 lead before eventually losing 4-3, missing out on a place in the final.

Heydari had earlier opened his campaign with an 8-0 victory over Chitich of Moldova.

He then defeated Belarus’ Zhivko Hinkov 7-0 before recording another dominant 8-0 victory over Makawe of India to advance to the semifinals.

In the 82kg category, Mohammadhosseini lost 5-1 to Russia’s Ramazan Nakhay in the semifinals and advanced to the bronze-medal bout.

Mohammadhosseini had begun his campaign with a 7-1 victory over Hrovai of Slovakia before defeating Rosario of Puerto Rico 9-0 in the second round.

He then beat Hovhannisyan of Armenia 7-3 in the quarterfinals to reach the semifinals.
