Ghalibaf meets Iraqi parliament speaker in Baghdad
Tehran - BORNA - The Iranian parliamentary delegation, led by Ghalibaf, visited the Iraqi parliament on Wednesday morning and held talks with al-Halbousi and a number of Iraqi parliament members on various issues between the two countries. The two speakers also held a bilateral meeting on the sidelines.
During the meeting, Ghalibaf presented a gift to his Iraqi counterpart on behalf of the Iranian parliamentary delegation, and al-Halbousi also presented a commemorative gift to Ghalibaf on behalf of the Iraqi parliament.
Ghalibaf was accompanied by Mohammad Taqi Naqdali, head of the Iran-Iraq Parliamentary Friendship Group; Mehdi Fallah, deputy head of the group; Shahin Jahangiri, a member of the group; and Sara Fallahi, a member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission.
Ghalibaf left Tehran for Baghdad on Wednesday morning at the head of a high-level parliamentary delegation to discuss regional developments, strengthen strategic cooperation between Tehran and Baghdad, and explore joint mechanisms to support stability and security in West Asia.
