Ghalibaf meets Iraqi national security adviser in Baghdad
Tehran - BORNA - Ghalibaf held talks with Iraqi National Security Adviser Qassem Hassan al-Aboudi on Thursday morning during the Iranian parliamentary delegation’s visit to Iraq.
The Iranian parliament speaker left Tehran for Baghdad on Wednesday at the head of a high-level parliamentary delegation for talks on regional developments, strengthening strategic cooperation between Tehran and Baghdad, and exploring joint approaches to promoting stability and security in West Asia.
Upon arriving in Baghdad, Ghalibaf visited the site where Iranian General Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis were assassinated to pay tribute to the two figures.
On the first day of his visit, Ghalibaf held separate meetings with the speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, the Iraqi president and the prime minister.
Early Thursday, on the second day of his trip, Ghalibaf also met with Faiq Zidan, head of Iraq’s Supreme Judicial Council.
Meetings with Iraqi business figures and attendance at a ceremony in Karbala marking the 40th day since the burial of the martyred Leader of the Ummah are also on Ghalibaf’s agenda for the second day of his visit.
