Iran U17 volleyball team claims third straight win at World Championship

Tehran - BORNA - Iran faced Chinese Taipei in its third match of the tournament and cruised to a 3-0 victory in the match, which began at 2:30 p.m.

Arash Sadeghiani’s side won the opening set 25-15 before taking the next two sets 25-21 and 25-17.

Iran, drawn alongside Algeria, Pakistan and Chinese Taipei in the preliminary round, finished top of its group with three victories and advanced to the next stage of the competition.

Sina Hazrati, captain and opposite hitter of Iran’s U17 team, was the top scorer of the match with 15 points.

The preliminary round of the U17 Boys’ Volleyball World Championship will conclude on Monday, after which the 16 qualified teams will be placed in the combined bracket for the round of 16.

Iran has already secured its place in the knockout stage, while its opponent in the round of 16 will be determined once the preliminary stage is completed.
