Pezeshkian: US bullying will only complicate implementation of Islamabad agreement

He thanked Pakistan for its constructive mediation efforts aimed at promoting regional peace and security and expressed hope that continued resolve and cooperation would help achieve the objectives set out in the Islamabad agreement.

The president stressed that the United States must honor its commitments to Iran in accordance with Tehran’s legitimate rights and international norms.

“The United States must change its tone and approach in dealing with Iran, as reliance on coercion and bullying will only complicate the implementation process,” he said.

Pezeshkian also highlighted the Iranian nation’s resilience, attributing it to national unity and cohesion.

“Relying on this solidarity, our nation will overcome all forms of pressure and threats,” he said.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the president described lasting regional peace and security, as well as greater cooperation among Muslim countries, as essential.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran stands ready for cooperation and engagement with Muslim and neighboring countries in the economic, political and security fields, as Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) always advocated peace and friendship,” he said.

Pezeshkian said unity among Muslim countries was the most important deterrent against the plots of the Israeli regime and the enemies of Islam, adding that such convergence would prevent them from advancing their hostile objectives.

Referring to the unity and coordination within Iran in pursuit of regional peace and stability, he voiced hope that Islamabad’s diplomatic efforts would bring greater prosperity and dignity to the region and the Muslim world.

Munir, for his part, thanked Pezeshkian for his efforts to promote regional stability and calm.

“To advance our common objectives and reach a comprehensive agreement, diplomatic processes must be discussed and reviewed with the utmost care and scrutiny,” the Pakistani army chief said.

Munir welcomed the growing bilateral cooperation and said the two countries’ deep historical, religious and cultural bonds constituted a valuable asset for overcoming the current complex circumstances and building a brighter future.

Citing Islamabad’s previous mediation efforts, he said Pakistan would resolutely continue its facilitating role.

Munir added that Pakistan believed an end to the crisis would open a new chapter of comprehensive cooperation focused on reconstruction, regional development and collective security.
