Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani is scheduled to visit Tehran on Thursday as part of ongoing consultations between Iran and Qatar aimed at expanding bilateral relations and strengthening regional peace and security, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson said.
Tehran - BORNA - Esmaeil Baghaei announced the visit in remarks to reporters.
Baghaei referred to Qatar’s mediation efforts in recent months to help prevent a further escalation of tensions in the region following what he described as US and Israeli military aggression against Iran.
He said the Qatari prime minister is expected to hold talks with Iranian officials on the continuation of Qatar’s mediation efforts and initiatives, as well as other regional developments.
