Iran reach U17 World Volleyball Championship semifinals
Iran’s boys’ U17 volleyball team advanced to the semifinals of the World Championship after defeating Pakistan 3-2 in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
Tehran - BORNA - Coached by Arash Sadeghiani, Iran won the five-set contest 25-23, 20-25, 17-25, 25-11, 16-14.
Iran had also defeated Pakistan 3-0 in the preliminary round of the tournament.
Iran captain and opposite hitter Sina Hazrati was the match’s top scorer with 26 points.
The semifinals of the Boys’ U17 World Volleyball Championship will be held on Friday, with Iran set to face the winner of the quarterfinal between Argentina and Poland.
