Ghalibaf to CENTCOM chief: If Iran cannot sell oil, no one in region will

Tehran - BORNA - Ghalibaf made the remarks in response to statements by US Central Command chief Adm. Brad Cooper, reposting a July 22 message on X.

“In a region where we cannot sell oil, no one will sell oil,” Ghalibaf wrote.

Cooper claimed in a video released by CENTCOM on Friday that the United States had fully cleared mines from the Strait of Hormuz.

He also said around 50,000 US troops were enforcing a naval blockade against Iran while maintaining maritime traffic through the strategic waterway.

Reiterating the claim that the strait had been cleared of mines, Cooper said US forces were assisting vessels in transiting the waterway.

He further claimed ships had transported a total of around 750 million barrels of oil from the Persian Gulf over recent months with US assistance.
