Hezbollah's Qassem: Martyred Imam Khamenei revived Palestinian cause through Islamic unity
Tehran - BORNA - Speaking at the closing session of the 40th International Islamic Unity Conference, Qassem said the United States and Israel have been defeated in three wars against the Islamic Republic because of the unity and steadfastness of the Iranian people. He said any lasting unity requires Muslims to gather around the Wali al-Faqih as a core pillar.
Qassem said Washington seeks to impose its will on the land, future and leadership of nations through what he called its own deviant choices, reducing peoples to servitude.
He added that regardless of what Washington and Tel Aviv do, and regardless of the severity of sanctions or military aggression, steadfastness will defeat the enemy's project. He said resistance, whatever its cost, halts the enemy's advance and paves the way for restoring the nation's standing.
Qassem said any retreat in the face of the enemy would lead to ruin, describing the adversary as ruthless and seeking global domination. He said the sacrifices made for Palestine — in blood, weapons, funding, confrontation and shared enmity toward Israel and Washington — reflect genuine unity.
He said this unity is embodied in Lebanon by the cooperation between Hezbollah, the Amal Movement and all political forces that reject Israel and seek liberation. He said the United States is acting as an enemy of the region's peoples, working to undermine the roots of the Islamic project and the rights of people in the region. As long as steadfastness continues and rights and territory are defended, he said, Washington's project will fail — even at the cost of major sacrifice and bloodshed.
Qassem said this combination of major sacrifice, bloodshed and unity is the natural path to defeating the enemy's project. He added that disagreements among Muslims must not create an internal front, and that Muslims must not lose sight of their principal enemy.
