Qatar says it is working to resume talks between Tehran and Washington

Tehran - BORNA - Qatar's Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday: "The state of neither war nor peace in the region is unacceptable. Together with our regional and international partners, including China, we are working to resume negotiations between Washington and Tehran and to end the crisis and tension in the region."

The ministry emphasized: "The reopening of the Strait of Hormuz is of great importance to us and to the entire region."

According to Al Jazeera, the ministry added: "Israel, whose actions and true face have been revealed in the region, is attempting to tarnish Qatar's image. Qatar is a trusted international partner, and Israel's campaigns to tarnish its image are false. Qatar's mediation efforts and humanitarian activities in Gaza and the Palestinian territories are recognized by the international community."
