Abbas Araghchi stated that the agenda for tomorrow's meeting in Oman focuses on a new maritime route in the Strait of Hormuz.

Tehran - BORNA - In an interview with Al-Araby Al-Jadeed, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi emphasized that the details of the agreement with Oman and the maps related to the new route will be shared with the participating countries.

Araghchi added that the agreement with Oman in no way implies the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, stressing that Iran's precondition for reopening the strait is the United States' return to its commitments under the Islamabad understanding.

The Iranian Foreign Minister stated that Iran believes the responsibility for ensuring regional security and stability rests solely with regional nations. He expressed hope that these talks will pave the way for future consultations on issues of mutual interest to countries in the region.
