Reports suggesting that Mohammad Mokhber has been appointed Iran’s special representative for China affairs have been denied.

Tehran - BORNA - Kaveh Eshtehardi, Mokhber’s media aide, rejected the speculation in a post on X.

“The appointment of Dr. Mohammad Mokhber, advisor and aide to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, as the Islamic Republic of Iran’s special representative for China affairs is not true,” he wrote.

Speculation over Mokhber’s possible appointment to the position had circulated on social media in recent days.

Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has been named Iran’s representative for China affairs since May of this year.
