Ghalibaf: Enemy Sought to Awaken Fear with Fire
Tehran - BORNA - Issuing a message on the eve of the 200th night of the people's presence in the streets, the Parliament Speaker stressed that the robust tree of Iran's defensive power, which stands firm on the battlefield, is rooted in the faith and will of the people who have taken over the streets of the homeland for two hundred nights.
The full text of his message is as follows:
"Honorable and epic-making nation of Iran,
Two hundred days have passed since the beginning of the third imposed war. Along this path, through your responsible and conscious presence in the arena, you have shown that the bedrock of the Islamic Republic's authority is, above all, the Iranian nation. The enemy imagined that a military invasion could break our will, but today, on the 200th night of the people's passionate presence in the streets, it has become clear that what failed was the aggressor's illusion, not the will of the Iranians.
No words are fitting other than paying tribute and expressing gratitude before this steadfast mountain. The robust tree of Iran's defensive power, which stands firm on the battlefield, is rooted in the faith and will of you, the exalted people, who have now conquered the streets of our beloved homeland for two hundred nights. Whatever is pursued in the diplomatic arena, relying on national dignity and interests, is also encouraged by the backing of this very presence, and it is this continuous and epic presence of the people that causes the failure of plots aimed at dividing and weakening our beloved Iran.
You, the proud people, disrupted the enemy's calculations by refusing to empty the streets under the fire of war and the enemy's security and economic pressures. The enemy wanted to awaken fear with fire; however, through your presence, you displayed the fire of zeal and dignity born of resistance, demonstrating that pressures and differences in perspective will never distort the profound bond of the hard core of 90 million Iranians with their beloved Iran and national interests.
The track record of the Islamic Revolution, the Sacred Defense, and the experience of recent wars testify to one reality: whenever the enemy has failed against Iran, the main reason has been the people's resistance—a resistance that has now found its meaning for 200 nights in the linkage between the military battlefield and the arena of the streets.
For us officials, the greatest boon these days is the 'opportunity to serve'; an opportunity that must be answered with honesty, endeavor, and relentless work. We bow before the Iranian nation and sincerely appreciate your patience and magnanimity. History will remember the name of this nation on par with the greatest days of Iran's resistance."
