Pezeshkian to leave for New York Tuesday for UN General Assembly
President Masoud Pezeshkian will travel to New York on Tuesday (31 Shahrivar) to take part in and address the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, the director general of the Presidential Office's public relations department announced.
Tehran - BORNA - Habibollah Abbasi told local media that Pezeshkian will depart Tuesday for the session.
The US government, in what was described as a hostile act, refused to issue visas for the president's media team, and Pezeshkian will travel to New York without his media delegation.
During the visit, the president will deliver a speech at the General Assembly and hold meetings with leaders and officials of several countries on the sidelines.
Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi traveled to New York on Sunday night.
The 81st session of the UN General Assembly will be held from September 22 to 29, 2026 (31 Shahrivar to 7 Mehr) at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
