Netanyahu's trip to New York was unusually curtailed compared to previous official visits, officially attributed to security advisories.

Israel’s Channel 13 reported on Thursday that Netanyahu was forced to restrict his New York stay to just several hours, with no scheduled meetings with Trump or leaders of major Western powers. Channel 12 similarly reported ahead of the trip that intensive efforts to arrange high-profile political sit-downs in New York had failed to yield results.

Additionally, Hebrew-language daily Israel Hayom reported that a scheduled meeting between Netanyahu and Marco Rubio was called off. The outlet attributed the cancellation to delays in Netanyahu’s flight arrival and Rubio’s required return to Washington for official administration commitments.

Reuters also highlighted that the uncharacteristically compressed visit and the total absence of face-to-face talks with Trump point toward a markedly more friction-laden phase in relations between Washington and Netanyahu.
