The Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE) rebounded sharply on Sunday, with the benchmark TEDPIX surging more than 121,000 points to reclaim the 7,274,000-point mark following steep losses in the previous session.

Tehran - BORNA - Market activity during the second trading session of the week (Sunday, September 27) witnessed broad-based buying interest across large-cap and mid-tier equities.

The benchmark TEDPIX jumped 121,042 points to close at 7,274,000. Meanwhile, the equal-weighted index climbed 31,388 points to reach 1,961,000, underscoring that Sunday’s bullish momentum extended across the wider market rather than being confined to index-heavyweight blue chips.

Trading volume expanded considerably, with 869,510 transactions recorded and total market turnover exceeding 300 trillion rials (30 trillion tomans/hemmats), pointing to fresh liquidity inflows.

The primary drivers lifting the benchmark index were National Iranian Copper Industries Company (NICICO/Fameli), Isfahan Oil Refining Company (Shepna), Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (Fars), Taban, Mobarakeh Steel Company (Foolad), TAPPICO, and the Social Security Investment Company (Shasta).

A parallel uptrend was recorded on the over-the-counter Farabourse (IFB), where the benchmark index added over 1,000 points to settle at 58,756 across 559,303 executed trades. Top positive contributors on Farabourse included Maren, Fezar, Golegohar (Kagohar), Arya Sasol, Vompna, Neishekar, and Hormoz Steel.

While the simultaneous rally in the benchmark and equal-weighted indices alongside elevated turnover points to an influx of demand, analysts note that trading patterns in upcoming sessions will be critical to assessing the long-term sustainability of the recovery.
