Tehran - BORNA - The reaction followed a statement by the US Treasury Secretary on Sunday via social media platform X, where Bessent announced that teams had been deployed worldwide to consult with foreign capitals on coordinating punitive measures against Iran.

Pointing to restrictions recently slapped on Iranian commercial airlines and banking networks across various jurisdictions, Bessent claimed that Washington's economic coercion campaign was yielding results. He also singled out the governments of the United Kingdom, Turkey, Oman, and the United Arab Emirates, offering praise for steps taken in alignment with the US pressure campaign.

Reacting to the remarks, Gharibabadi posted on his X account:

"Bessent speaks of dispatching teams to countries to issue orders regarding economic relations with Iran, as though they consider the world their backyard.

Sovereign governments determine their ties with Iran based on their own national interests and priorities, not the directives of the US Treasury.

The era of imposing will through threats and sanctions is drawing to an end."
