Ghalibaf Rejects US Claims on Strait of Hormuz, Points to Surging Crude Premium
Tehran - BORNA - "Either the oil market is foolish, or the US is lying; everyone knows the former is not true," Ghalibaf wrote on his X account.
Responding to remarks by American officials asserting that Iran lacks control over the strategic waterway, the parliament speaker highlighted the heavy risk premium currently factored into energy markets.
"The American deception machine claims Iran has no control over the Strait of Hormuz, yet the market has priced in a heavy premium on oil: $35 higher than before the aggression, and $50 based on physical crude prices," Ghalibaf noted.
"So either the market is foolish for buying oil at these higher prices, or the US narrative-laundering apparatus is putting on a charade," he added. "For those who believe Washington, a free dollar-printing machine has been set up in the Strait of Hormuz—go ahead and help yourselves!"
