IRGC details causes of US decline, urges public action in letter to American people
Tehran - BORNA - Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, IRGC Spokesman Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi emphasized that the message is a logical, compassionate, and detailed initiative aimed at fostering genuine understanding rather than serving as transient media propaganda. He stated that the document seeks to clarify why the United States is facing decline and how the American people can help reverse this trajectory.
Addressing the military arena, the letter asserts that despite wielding an annual defense budget a hundred times larger than Iran’s and forming an alliance with the Zionist regime, the US military failed to achieve any of its 15 declared objectives in the recent seven-month war. It adds that Washington suffered a major strategic defeat, effectively bringing an end to the era of undisputed US global hegemony.
The IRGC noted that Iran's resilience and victory do not stem merely from missiles or drones, but from its monotheistic worldview, national unity around the Quran, and righteous leadership. The letter particularly highlights the command of Imam Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei in frustrating the world’s leading military powers and maintaining national steadfastness.
Clarifying Tehran's stances, the letter underscores that the slogan "Death to America" is not directed at the American people, who are themselves victims of their ruling elite's policies. Instead, it represents a cry against the oppression and injustices perpetrated globally by the rulers of the White House.
The document further details a 73-year record of Washington's hostility against the Iranian nation, citing the 1953 coup d'état, decades of backing dictatorship, support for Saddam Hussein during the eight-year imposed war, the shootdown of an Iranian passenger airliner, crippling economic and medical sanctions, the assassination of General Qassem Soleimani, and recent atrocities including the killing of schoolchildren in Minab.
Rejecting Washington's terrorist designation of the force, the letter describes the IRGC as a popular institution and the world’s most effective counter-terrorism force. It stresses that the US and its allies label the IRGC a terrorist organization solely because it remains the primary obstacle to foreign-sponsored coups, subversion, and colonial plots across the region.
The letter also attributes America’s decline to governance based on falsehoods, the elevation of incompetent leaders, and the squandering of trillions of dollars on futile foreign wars such as those in Iraq and Afghanistan. It points out that while 40 million Americans live below the poverty line and face severe domestic hardships, US officials continuously prioritize the financial interests of arms manufacturers and the Zionist lobby over public welfare.
In its concluding appeal, the IRGC calls on American citizens, students, and academics to awaken their collective conscience and disassociate themselves from warmongering rulers. It urges the American public to demand the dismantling of Washington's 800 overseas military bases, redirect resources toward domestic development, and choose righteous leadership to avoid an inevitable systemic collapse.
