Iran finished the 20th Asian Games with 19 gold, 18 silver and 15 bronze medals for a total of 52, placing sixth in the overall standings.
China topped the medal table with 169 gold, 89 silver and 83 bronze medals, followed by Japan with 83 gold, 94 silver and 91 bronze, and South Korea with 38 gold, 43 silver and 68 bronze.
