Iran will defeat enemy's economic war through unity, public service: President
Tehran - BORNA - Speaking at a nationwide gathering of commanders of the Iranian Law Enforcement Command (FARAJA) on Thursday morning, Pezeshkian expressed gratitude for their round-the-clock efforts to safeguard national security.
He noted that following recent military aggressions against the country, the enemy sought to trigger internal unrest by targeting security and police centers and seeking the assassination of leaders and commanders. "However, the resilience of the armed forces, the dedication of FARAJA, and the presence and support of the Iranian nation thwarted the enemy's plot, bringing pride to Iran," Pezeshkian stated.
Pointing to the damaged police facilities he had visited following the recent conflict, the president described the attacks as a clear symbol of the "savagery of the US and the Zionist regime," criticizing their hypocritical claims regarding human rights. He added that the world now views Iran differently, as no regional country expected the Islamic Republic to withstand such a ferocious assault.
Turning to the economic pressures facing the country, Pezeshkian highlighted the unseen but severe economic warfare waged against Iran. He emphasized that the government is fully committed to serving the people and overcoming these hurdles.
He also called for public and institutional cooperation in energy conservation, noting that merely a 10-percent reduction in consumption would eliminate the country's need for energy imports. Commending the police for their successful crackdown on fuel smuggling, he suggested that expanding initiatives like a "car-free day" nationwide could save 10 million liters of fuel daily.
The president underscored the government's strategy of prioritizing energy supplies for the industrial and manufacturing sectors over government offices to prevent job losses and mitigate social tensions.
Urging a community-based approach to social issues, Pezeshkian highlighted the potential of the country's 80,000 mosques to act as local support centers to assist the needy and enhance neighborhood security. He also stressed the importance of avoiding harsh or coercive encounters with the public, advocating instead for guiding society through positive conduct and mutual respect. "We are all members of one land and one home, even if we have different tastes," he noted.
Concluding his remarks, the president praised the "exceptional unity" currently existing among the executive, legislative, and judicial branches, specifically thanking Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf and Judiciary Chief Gholamhossein Mohseni-Ejei.
"If we stand united—the IRGC, Basij, Army, police, government, parliament, and judiciary—they will never be able to force us into submission," Pezeshkian affirmed.
