Araghchi voices concern over escalating regional tensions in call with Saudi FM
Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has expressed concern over the escalation of regional tensions during a telephone conversation with his Saudi counterpart, warning that an insistence on military approaches will only further complicate the existing situation.
Tehran - BORNA - Araghchi and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan held discussions late Sunday regarding the latest developments in the region.
Expressing concern over the rising tensions, Araghchi emphasized: "Insistence on a military approach and disregard for a political solution will only further complicate the existing situation."
Reiterating that ongoing regional crises have no military solution, the top Iranian diplomat affirmed that the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to provide any assistance to facilitate the start of dialogue between Saudi Arabia and Yemen and to help achieve a political settlement.
