Iran says Qatar cooperating on status of Iranian pilots
Tehran - BORNA - Responding to a question from local media at her press conference, held at the Tax Affairs Organization, Mohajerani said: "The Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are pursuing this matter, and the Qatari government has given a favorable pledge and has always expressed its readiness to cooperate in clarifying their situation."
She expressed hope that the status of the Iranian pilots would be fully clarified as soon as possible.
Pezeshkian's Turkmenistan trip
Describing the president's recent travel, Mohajerani said Masoud Pezeshkian attended the summit of Commonwealth of Independent States leaders as a special guest, with bilateral meetings with heads of state and Caspian littoral countries, and follow-up on shared issues including environmental matters.
Ghalibaf's negotiating efforts
Referring to the work of the negotiating team, Mohajerani said: "Mr. Ghalibaf devoted all his efforts to the negotiations, and these efforts led to the signing of a memorandum that carries Iran's dignity within it."
She said no one is exempt from the effort to preserve national unity.
US pressure on land borders
Asked about US Treasury pressure on Turkey and Pakistan to close their land borders with Iran, following restrictions imposed on air routes, Mohajerani said: "Some of these matters are at the level of rumor and speculation, but naturally the government has prepared itself for possible conditions."
She said restrictions such as flight cancellations, rail sanctions and speculation about Iran's land borders are an example of what Iran has emphasized for years — "that the target of these actions is Iran and the lives of its people."
Mohajerani said the government's solutions are complete, adding that resilience in the areas of "life and bread" reflects national cohesion.
Internet restrictions
Asked about the state of the internet in the country, Mohajerani pointed to the continuation of wartime conditions: "At present, only a ceasefire has halted matters in some areas, and no part of the war has been completely stopped. The statements and actions of the hostile enemy show that its target is the Iranian people and their lives."
She said the relevant bodies may at times be forced to reduce internet speed given the importance of the country's data centers and internet-based services. "We do not pursue this as a principle, but we announce that such measures are taken to protect the country's assets."
She expressed hope that the country would reach a state of sustainable peace so that people's lived experience would be fully aligned with the measures taken to defend them.
