Ghalibaf congratulates Iran's U23 Greco-Roman wrestling team on world championship title
Tehran - BORNA - In part of his message, Ghalibaf stated that the national Greco-Roman wrestling team's championship demonstrated that Iranian youth keep the flag of Iran's authority flying high both on the battlefield and in the sports arena.
The full text of the message reads as follows:
"The proud championship of the Islamic Republic of Iran's national under-23 Greco-Roman wrestling team at the World Championships in the United States—securing three gold medals, two bronze medals, and 119 points—was a great honor for the Iranian nation and a shining manifestation of the capabilities of this land's youth.
"On US soil, the zealous sons of our homeland stood atop the world championship podium with Iranian strength and determination, compelling the American hosts to repeatedly listen to the proud national anthem of the Islamic Republic of Iran in their own land and pay respect to the hoisting of our country's sacred flag. These scenes demonstrated that Iranian youth raise the flag of Iran's authority both on the battlefield and in the sports arena, and wherever there is a field of confrontation, they can powerfully defend the name, flag, and dignity of their homeland.
"The continued success of wrestling is the fruit of scientific management, purposeful planning, the commitment of coaches and technical staff, and the perseverance and zeal of young athletes who, with faith in their abilities, turned the hardship of training and the rigors of competition into national pride. Our champions spoke with strength and merit in the arena, proving that the name of Iran shines atop the world through the efforts, dignity, and willpower of its children.
"I congratulate the noble nation of Iran, the proud champions, coaches, technical staff, the great wrestling family, and the officials of the federation on this proud achievement, and I pray to Almighty God for the continued victories of Iran's youth and the eternal hoisting of our country's sacred flag in global arenas."
