Iran steadfast in principled stance on Yemen, ready to facilitate Saudi-Yemeni peace

Tehran - BORNA - Speaking to reporters, Baghaei outlined the Islamic Republic of Iran's positions regarding the Saudi-Yemeni conflict, stressing the need to resolve the issues through diplomatic channels.

The spokesperson clarified that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always been ready to use its good offices to help end the conflicts and remains prepared to utilize all its capacities for this purpose should the parties request it.

Regarding claims made by a Saudi Foreign Ministry official about Iran's alleged role in encouraging Yemenis to attack Saudi Arabia, Baghaei said: "The Islamic Republic of Iran rejects any claims regarding Iran's role in Yemeni operations."

He further emphasized that resolving the Yemen issue requires respecting the country's national sovereignty and territorial integrity, ceasing any interference in its internal affairs, and, most importantly, putting an end to the air and sea blockade on the country.
