Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi stated that the Strait of Hormuz will reopen on the sixth day if the United States complies with Iran's conditions, noting that negotiations could resume from the seventh day.

Tehran - BORNA - Speaking to reporters at the conclusion of the 52nd Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Baghdad, Araghchi highlighted Iran's proposed seven-day plan to resolve issues with the US, stating that Tehran is currently reviewing comments provided by the American side, but emphasized that Iran's proposal remains firmly on the table.

"Iran's conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz are clear. These conditions are not unusual and include matters to which the US had previously committed in prior understandings and negotiations," Araghchi noted.

He stressed: "If there is genuine will on the American side to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, these conditions can be implemented within a few days, paving the way for reopening this strategic waterway."

The top Iranian diplomat explained that under the framework proposed by the Islamic Republic of Iran, if the specified conditions are met, the Strait of Hormuz will be reopened on the sixth day, and negotiations will resume on the seventh day.

Araghchi added that while the US side has submitted its views and Tehran is reviewing them, the Islamic Republic of Iran continues to stand by its proposed framework.
