Iran's envoy to the United Nations has described the US naval blockade and sanctions as part of the acts of aggression against the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity, emphasizing the necessity of holding the perpetrators of international law violations accountable.

Tehran - BORNA -  In a letter to the UN Security Council following the continuation of the US naval blockade, Gholamhossein Darzi, Iran's ambassador and chargé d'affaires to the UN, stated: "The US has also continued and intensified its hostile actions by implementing an economic coercion campaign termed 'Operation Economic Outcast' and imposing extensive and illegal sanctions against the aviation sector and other vital sectors of Iran's economy."

The Iranian envoy emphasized: "The continuation of the naval blockade is neither an isolated measure nor a merely economic one; rather, it is part of the broader context of the initial acts of aggression, the continued use of military force, and the resulting violations against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Iran."

"Holding the perpetrators of aggression and other internationally wrongful acts accountable is an undeniable necessity for maintaining international peace and security," Darzi added.
