Chabahar port

The US has granted India an extension on sanctions waivers for Iran Chabahar Port until early next year. This crucial port facilitates India’s regional connectivity plans, provided vital access to Afghanistan and Central Asia.

Iran says its joint development projects with India and other countries in the deepwater port of Chabahar will continue regardless of a recent decision by the United States to withdraw a sanctions waiver granted to the port seven years ago.

Iran will inaugurate a new passenger shipping route between Chabahar and Muscat next week, following President Masoud Pezeshkian’s recent visit to Oman.

The United States has revoked the sanctions waiver for Iran’s Chabahar port , threatening India’s multi-million-dollar investment in the strategic project amid straining ties between Washington and New Delhi.
