Iran Defeats Slovenia in Volleyball Friendly Ahead of World Championship
Iran’s national volleyball team defeated Slovenia 3–1 in a friendly match on Tuesday as part of preparations for the upcoming FIVB World Championship in the Philippines.
Tehran - BORNA - The match, played on September 9 with an agreed four-set format, saw Iran take the first three sets before Slovenia claimed the final one:
Set 1: Iran 34–32
Set 2: Iran 25–23
Set 3: Iran 25–23
Set 4: Slovenia 26–24
Iran will play another warm-up match against Germany before the start of the championship.
In the World Championship, Iran is placed in a group alongside Egypt, Tunisia and host nation the Philippines. The team will open its campaign on Sunday, September 14.
