Iran Dominates 2025 Asian Junior Freestyle Wrestling Championships

Tehran - BORNA - Iran’s junior freestyle wrestling team has claimed the top spot at the 2025 Asian Junior Wrestling Championships, held on July 12–13 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. With a total of 7 medals—4 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze—Iran secured the continental title with a commanding 179 points.

Iranian wrestlers delivered dominant performances across the weight categories:

Gold medals were earned by:

Ebrahim Elahi (70 kg)

Mohammad-Mehdi Memivand (74 kg)

Abolfazl Rahmani (86 kg)

Erfan Alizadeh (97 kg)

Silver medals went to:

Abolfazl Shamsipour (79 kg)

Tohid Nouri (92 kg)

Bronze medal:

Arshia Hadadi (57 kg)

In the final team standings, Iran topped the table with 179 points, followed by India (157 points) and Kazakhstan (133 points).

This victory comes on the heels of another continental triumph by Iran’s Greco-Roman junior team, which recently took the Asian title with 4 gold and 5 bronze medals.
